The business of Science Survey Report 2017

At the 2017 Business of Science conference, held in Manchester on 18th May at the Museum of Science & Industry, delegates were invited to take part in the inaugural 'Business of Science Survey'.

100 delegates completed the survey and the results of their answers are now available in the inaugural Survey Report.

Key findings from the report suggest;

  • The Science Sector's contribution to the UK is undervalued although many businesses are very good at commercialising Science
  • Innovation is encouraged in both Commercial and Non-commercial organisations with a stronger performance for new services over new products
  • Many vacancies are left unfilled due to the lack of STEM qualifications even though many felt that career opportunities are better than in other sectors.
